Privacy Policy

Vocabinet has a local extension flow and an optional hosted Pro billing flow. This policy covers both.

Local extension data

selected text you intentionally choose to translate
source language, target language, and quick-translate settings
saved vocabulary entries stored locally in Chrome

The core translation feature is intended to run locally in Chrome using browser-provided translation capabilities. Local settings and vocabulary stay in chrome.storage.local until you delete them or remove the extension.

Paid flow data

If you use Vocabinet Pro, Vocabinet and its providers may process:

checkout nonce and activation code
device identifier used for entitlement checks
subscription status, transaction reference, and customer identifier
basic request metadata needed for security and service operation

Why we process data

to perform local translation and local vocabulary storage
to activate Pro and verify that a subscription remains valid
to enforce device limits and support recovery or deactivation
to provide billing management and prevent abuse or fraud

Service providers

Cloudflare for hosted pages, API execution, and database storage
Stripe for checkout, subscription billing, and billing management

Feedback and reviews

Vocabinet shows a Feedback link and a Rate link in the extension popup, and it may occasionally suggest leaving a Chrome Web Store review in its popup or vocabulary page. These prompts never appear on the webpages you visit.

clicking Feedback opens a Google Form in a new tab; Google receives only what you choose to submit, such as your comments and an optional email address
Vocabinet does not add your saved words, page addresses, page content, activation code, or Pro status to any feedback form or link
to decide when to suggest a review, Vocabinet keeps counts, dates, and flags in chrome.storage.local on your device; this is not transmitted
if you uninstall Vocabinet, Chrome opens a feedback form after removal; the address is fixed and carries no identifiers
Rate links open the Vocabinet page in the Chrome Web Store

What Vocabinet does not do

it does not run third-party ad tracking in the current implementation
it does not sell personal data

Retention and security

Local data remains on your device until you delete it. Hosted billing and entitlement records may be retained for security, legal compliance, subscription management, and support. Keep activation codes private and avoid sharing screenshots or links that expose them.
